About us

The software clinicians would design.

Tiro.health is a Ghent-based team of clinicians, engineers and clinical data specialists building an AI-native outpatient EHR for skin specialists across Europe.

The name

Cicero's secretary.

Engraved portrait of Marcus Tullius Tiro

Tiro

/ˈtiː.roʊ/ “Tea-ro”, the way the Romans said it.

Marcus Tullius Tiro was personal secretary to Cicero. While Rome's greatest orator spoke, Tiro wrote. He invented his own shorthand to keep up, so Cicero never had to slow down for the paperwork.

The notes became famous. The system stayed in use for a thousand years. Tiro himself lived to 99, which suggests handling someone else's admin all day is surprisingly good for you. We would rather it was software's job.

The best doctors deserve a Tiro of their own.

The system stayed in use

It started with structured data for better care.

Tiro began with a simple need. One of our cofounders needed structured data for his research on improving care for prostate cancer patients. The data was there, in every consultation, every report. It just wasn't usable. So we built software that captured it at the point of care, as better and faster medical notes rather than extra admin, without asking clinicians to change how they work.

That tool found its way into hospitals across Belgium, and clinicians started asking for more. Step by step, we grew from reporting into the workflows around it. Every request taught us the same lesson: when software follows the way clinicians actually think and consult, everything downstream gets better. The report, the data, the quality of care.

That is why we are now rethinking the medical record from scratch. Not by adding AI on top of old systems, but by building a record that is AI-native from its foundations. One flow from consultation to invoice, from admission to incision. Your admin should end when your last patient walks out.

Team

Clinical, technical and delivery in the same room.

Clinical

Specialists and clinical data experts

Dermatologists and surgeons who define what a good record looks like before a single field is drawn.

Engineering

Clinical software and applied AI

The people building the capture engine, the terminology layer and the integrations with hospital systems.

Delivery

Onboarding and migration

Data migration, configuration and training, so a switch takes weeks rather than quarters.

What we believe

Three convictions that shape every release.

Adoption without adaptation

A consultation has a rhythm that took years to settle. We build around that rhythm rather than against it, so adopting Tiro means keeping your way of working, not learning someone else's.

Health data stays in Europe

EU hosting, encryption at rest and in transit, and no training on patient data. Privacy is an architecture choice, not a policy page.

The clinic sets the pace

We ship with practices in the room. If something adds a step to a real consultation, it does not go live.

Come build the future of care with us.

We hire clinicians, engineers and clinical data specialists who would rather fix the consultation than add another dashboard.
